Application & Interview Team

Every application is reviewed Children’s Corps alumni. The Children’s Corps interview team is also comprised of our spectacular program alumni. Along every step of the selection process, our admissions team wants to ensure that this is the right fit for both our program and the applicant. The interview provides an opportunity for everyone to learn more and ask questions. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming interview day.

Meet Our Application & Interview Team

  • Deidra (she/her)

    Deidra is a member of the CC Class of 2016 and was placed in Foster Care in the Bronx. She holds a M.S. in Nonprofit Management and currently serves as Director for the Fostering Youth Success Alliance at Children’s Aid. There she gets to lead youth-centered advocacy and policy work to break down barriers to young people's success after experiencing the foster care system. She has been a part of the application and interview team for many years. Fun Fact: she’s an avid puzzler!

  • Noah (he/him)

    Noah is an alum from the class of 2018. He worked in Therapeutic Foster Care in Queens. He is currently working towards his J.D. from LMU Loyola Law School and works part-time as a law clerk. He has been on our interview team for 4 years and part of the application team for 2 years. Fun fact: he is a vegetarian and loves to experiment in the kitchen. In his spare time, Noah enjoys hiking and is an avid New England sports fan.

  • Latisha (she/her)

    Latisha is an alum of the class of 2015 where she worked in foster care in Queens. She has been on our interview team for many years.

  • Kristle (she/her)

    Kristle was a member of the class of 2016 and began as a BSW Scholar. She worked in Therapeutic Foster Care and is currently a Foster Care Program Director at SCO Family of Services. She has been part of the interview team for 3 years and can alway be found reading two books at once (one physical and one audio).

  • Danny (he/him)

    Danny is from the class of 2017 where he worked in Foster Care. He holds a Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University and currently works at the New York Foundling in the Mental Health Department. His favorite hobby is photography especially when he’s traveling.

  • Sophie (she/her)

    Sophie is a member of the class of 2017, she holds an MSW and is an LICSW working with Children and Family Services in Washington DC. She has been on the interview team for many years. Fun Fact: she is a huge Philadelphia sports fan.

  • Ann (she/they)

    Ann was a part of the Children’s Corps class of 2018 where they worked in Foster Care in Brooklyn. They recently received their LMSW from Hunter College and currently work at Womankind, supporting children living in domestic violence shelters. They are returning to our interview team for the third year. Fun fact: they were born without a sense of smell.

  • Angelyn (she/her)

    Angelyn was placed in Foster Care in Queens as part of the Children’s Corps Class of 2018. She graduated from Hunter in 2022 where she obtained her MSW. She currently works at a Community Mental Health Clinic in Queens. She’s been part of our application team for 2 years. Fun Fact: while she’s lived in NYC for nearly 10 years, she’s a lifelong Boston sports fan!

  • James (he/him)

    James was a member of the class of 2019 and has a Bachelor's in Linguistics and English Literature. He was placed in Foster Care in Brooklyn. This is his first year as part of the application team and the second year as part of the interview team. Fun Fact: he owns at least two copies of every Jane Austen novel.

  • Aldahir (he/him)

    Aldahir was part of the CC class of 2020 where he worked in Prevention program in Brooklyn. He holds a Bachelors of Science and is currently in school getting his Masters in Social Work and he currently works at JCCA in Prevention. This is his first year on the application team. Fun facts: he loves extreme sports (surfing, skydiving) as well as playing hide and seek with his cat.

  • Kabbas (he/they)

    Kabbas is a member of the CC class of 2019 where he worked in Prevention in Brooklyn. He’s currently pursing his J.D. at Boston University School of Law. This is his first year on the application team.

  • Asarr (he/him)

    Asarr is from the class of 2019 where he worked in foster care. He recently received his MSW from Fordham University and currently works at a substance use clinic (NADAP).

    Fun Fact: he can play pretty much any instrument.

  • Patricia (she/her)

    Patricia was a member of the Children’s Corps Winter Class of 2021. She was placed in a prevention program in Brooklyn and she now works as a Therapist at JCCA. This is her first year as part of the interview team. Fun Fact: She enjoys indoor skydiving.

  • Jay (she/her)

    Jay is a graduate of the class of 2019 and has remained at her placement agency since graduating and is currently a supervisor in the Home Finding Department. Fun Fact: Jay tries to read 365 books a year and the highest she has achieved is 320 in one year.
