The Children’s Corps Support Team is a diverse group of Children’s Corps alumni who provide unwavering support to all current members throughout their two-year commitment.

The Support Team completes monthly check ins with each Corps member. They host social events, health and wellness challenges, and graduate school and career panels.

  • Asarr (LMSW)

    SUPPORTING CC SUMMER CLASS OF 2023

    An alumna of the Children’s Corps Class of 2019, Asarr worked as a Foster Care Case Planner at HeartShare St. Vincent's Services. Through that work, he developed a passion for supporting children and families. After completing his Children’s Corps service, he began working as a Substance Use Case Manager at National Association of Drug Abuse Problems as a way to round out my skill set. There, he provides case management, lead group and individual counseling, and a variety of other services to this population.

  • Angelyn Cannon (LMSW)

    SUPPORTING CC SUMMER CLASS OF 2023

    Angelyn joined Children's Corps through the BSW Scholars Program and is a member of the Children’s Corps Class of 2018. She was placed in a Case Planner role at the HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services foster care program in Queens. She remained in that role for an additional third year and then went on to receive her MSW from Hunter College. She is now working full time as an LMSW therapist in a community health clinic in Queens.

  • Joanna McIntyre (LMSW)

    SUPPORTING CC SUMMER CLASS OF 2022

    An alumna of the Children’s Corps Class of 2017, Joanna worked as a foster care case planner at Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services. After completing her Children’s Corps service, she received her MSW from the University at Albany, and is currently working at Day One as a contracted social worker in a Public High School in Queens. There, she provides counseling and serves as an educator to prevent intimate partner violence among youth.
